Rate Schedule

  • North System Rates (PDF) – EMEPA’s North System consists of those in Winston, Kemper, Attala, and Neshoba counties.
  • South System Rates (PDF) – EMEPA’s South System consists of those in Lauderdale, Clarke, Newton, Wayne, and Jasper counties.

Schedule of Fees & Charges

Membership: $5

Individuals desiring electric service are required to become a member of the Association and pay a refundable membership fee. This allows the member all rights and privileges of membership, including electric service, a subscription to the “Today in Mississippi” monthly publication, free in-home energy audits, and more. The fee is refunded when the member no longer receives electric service from EMEPA.

Connect/Transfer: $35

When a new account is established or an existing account is transferred to a new service location, a nonrefundable connection charge is assessed to offset the cost of setting up the account and setting the meter.

Deposits: Vary

Residential deposit fees are determined by credit screening and are refundable after a 12-month period with a good payment record.

  • Level 1: No fee
  • Level 2: $150
  • Level 3: $300

Small business, commercial, and industrial deposit fees are determined by billing history or load estimation.

  • Service location with existing history: Twice the monthly bill average
  • Small business (less than 50 kW): Owner’s credit or estimated kW use
  • Commercial/industrial: Twice the estimated kW

Reconnect Fee: $30 to $90

  • Automated meters: $30
  • Non-automated meters: $60 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
  • Non-automated meters: $90 (limited after hours)

Delinquent Penalty Fee: Varies

Applied to delinquent amount on current bill 5% of delinquent balance under $250 plus 1% of remaining balance over $250

Returned Check Fee: $30

Meter Reading Fee: $30

This monthly fee applies only to accounts that opt out of EMEPA’s automated metering system.

Meter Test: $60

Per customer request

Power Diversion/Meter Tampering Fine: $100 to $500

When there is evidence that a member has altered their electric service connection, a fine may be charged to the account in addition to the estimated amount of un-metered electricity.
