EMEPA Takes Aim at Cancer for the 13th Year

For the 13th year, East Mississippi Electric Power Association employees, partners and supporters gathered at Camp Binachi in Lauderdale County with one shared goal: making a difference in the fight against cancer. What started as a simple idea has grown into a meaningful tradition, bringing people together each spring to support those facing one of life’s toughest battles.

The annual Shoot For a Cure clay shooting event continues to generate critical funding for both local and national impact. This year’s event raised a record-breaking $41,000. Proceeds benefit Baptist-Anderson Cancer Center’s Cancer Patient Benevolence Fund, which provides direct assistance to patients in our region, as well as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a leader in groundbreaking pediatric cancer research and care.

“Each year, this event reminds us of the power of community,” said Margaret Brewer, EMEPA Executive Assistant and event coordinator. “It’s about more than fundraising. It’s about standing alongside those affected by cancer and offering hope, support and encouragement.”

EMEPA extends its sincere appreciation to the sponsors, shooters and volunteers who make Shoot For A Cure possible year after year. Their continued support ensures this event not only honors its legacy but also strengthens its impact for the future.
